After some of the recent updates from Google Chrome, it has undoubtedly become the most popular browser ever. Ability to customize the appearance using themes and other features makes it way ahead in the race with other browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari etc. The Chrome web Store has a decent collection of themes to choose from, but still you have an option to create your own theme using the graphics of your choice. Here’s how you can do this…

If you are familiar with JSON (Java Script Object Notation) files, you just need Theme Creation Guide to get started..

For others, there’s a website called Chrometheme.net, which provides a web based Chrome theme creator. Below are the steps to creake , pack and install the theme..

1. Go to Chrome Theme creator. The window opened has 2 parts. Left part is used to create the theme and right part shows the preview.

2. If you want to use your own wallpaper in the large white space of Chrome and be done with it, upload the wallpaper at the theme_ntp_background image element, then proceed to step 3. To create a full theme, click through each tab to customize the image, color ant tint elements. Hovering over each element will bring up a tip box for that element and the preview area will keep displaying the changes as soon as you implement them.

3. Once you are done with all the attributes, click on Pack and install theme..

4. After the theme is installed, check all the things are in the way you wanted them to be. If they are not, Go back and edit till you get your desired look.

5. Click on Pack and Download theme to save them theme for later use.

And you are done with creating a theme for yourself. Enjoy..
