Apple Macintosh has emerged as one of the most creative, secure and responsive operating system in the last few years. Before some years, Apple claimed that Macintosh OS can not be infected with any kind of computer virus, this official statement gave a real boost to this OS in the market. Over the years, hackers kept trying to develop a virus which could infect files placed on a computer running Mac OS. Finally they succeeded. In an official statement by Mashable earlier this year, It was proved that Apple Computers are no more virus free.

So officially there is no such operating system in the market, which can claim to be 100% free from viruses, but still all the operating systems are competing over other terms like creativity, performance, system requirements and other features. One of the main feature of today’s operating systems is the ability to share things like files, screen and Internet connection.

In this post, I will be writing about the internet sharing feature of the Macintosh OS.

Why Internet sharing is needed ?

There are many instances where you might feel a need that you need to share your internet connection on a Mac device so that you can use Internet on multiple devices via a single Internet connection. Be it your trip somewhere outside your town or visit to a friend’s house or visit to a hotel where the Internet is either not provided or charged extra. Another possible reason might be that you do not have an Ethernet port on your device, in all these conditions, Internet sharing can be pretty useful.

How does Internet Sharing in Mac work ?

Well, just like any other device or router, your Mac OS device generates a wireless signal with or without a password. This password is created for security purposes so that the device which has shared Internet connection, cannot be used by any other person you haven’t authorized. Once the signal and the UID is identified by the other device, you just need to enter the password and your device is connected to use the Internet connection.

Needed Items :
